About me

Hello all, my name's Andrew Tappin and I'm from Lanlivery. I finished my degree in politics & sociology, and quickly began to read about the Transition movement and how I could apply the key ideas/concepts to my own village, Lanlivery. As a result, an allotment shall be set up, we will have a website with a 'veg-wall' which will allow villagers to post when they have excess fruit or veg, and it will also help to freecycle.

The main benefit coming from Transition Lanlivery, at least in my view,  is the revolution in thinking which comes from just creating a dialogue on issues such as resource depletion and global warming. It is amazing how people, when given the chance, can display enormous creativity and how this can manifest itself in concrete action which furthers a move towards resilient communities.

What I'm most looking forward to next spring is spreading the Transition logic to neighbouring villages/parishes, and working with those who are already transitioning to establish strong links, in order to coordinate more effectively.

Please feel free to get in touch and share any information on all things political and environmental.
