In Cornwall we have pioneers of European Permaculture "Plants For a Future". They run a site that is a leader in edible and useful plants. They protect many native species. They champion biodiversity, of the 1000s of edible plants we tend to eat only a tiny range. They practice organic permaculture.
Ken Fern wrote a book of the same name, "Plants For a Future" and was instrumental in applying permacultural principles to our damp climate. Whilst the design principles are universally applicable many of the techniques published in the early days were developed in Australia. What worked wonders in Australia can create a slug haven in the UK.
