Site now open for TCN members to add content

Ron and myself had an intensive session on Thurs afternoon tidying up this new website, and it is now ready for TCN members to register, log in, create their profile, and add content.

Prior to logging in, visible content is much the same as the old site. Once you've logged in, full collaborative and interactive features are available (see "Tools" menu), mostly via groups any registered user can create or join.

Groups can be open to all registered users for participation, or by invitation only.

They can include Pages, Blogs, Files, Discussion area, Photo galleries, Links, and more. Any content any group member creates within a group can be flagged as viewable by the public (all site visitors), logged in users, or group members only.

This effectively means that any Transition/CF group in Cornwall can build its own info pages linking to their own website (see Transition Falmouth group for example), or indeed build a complete website within the TCN site if they don't currently have one.

I've also created a Resource List database on the website where people can add resources available to share (e.g. books, DVDs, equipment).

I think this covers most of the requirements in the task list for the website.

I'll be running a workshop on creating content for the site at some point in the near future.

Last but not least, many thanks to those who have tested it over the last few weeks, especially Ron for creating much of the content and freeing me up to focus on structure and features.

All the best,

Rob
